Our rebrand began with a nod to their founders, the moment that started it all – the joining of legal-minded forces that are Cleland Murdoch and Jeff Walker. Representing the connection of ‘M’ and ‘W,’ the logo evokes a contemporary take on the iconic, rolling Southland hills that the law practice has called home since 2005. We illustrated Walker Murdoch Law’s focus on reliability, stability and a dash of structure by putting geometric shapes centre stage. Rounded shapes softened, and echoed their focus on community, creativity and completion while triangles point to a sense of pace and go-forward action.
From there began a journey of drawing out Walker Murdoch Law’s verbal identity, looking at what has given them their inimitable edge. This crystalised into a compelling brand story — highlighting their unique sense of empathy, experience and expertise — to cut through the clutter and connect them to new audiences and inspire action. With these in mind, a set of key messages were defined to convey their services and different aspects of their brand to not just appeal to segments of their audience, but stand out with pride.
